Process Description:
Using the Summit Client Utility tools for automating fixes to QuickBooks issues
Requirements to Complete this Process:
- Access to the server hosting QuickBooks
- Admin access to the server
Open the Summit Client Utility Application:
- Launch the Summit Client Utility from your Desktop or Start Menu (admin permissions required)
- Click the QB Tools tab
Issues that can be fixed:
Error OLSU Fix- This will resolve the QuickBooks Error OLSU 1022 and OLSU 1024
“Requires Admin” Error – This will resolve the error “Action Requires Administrator (-12,0)” received when launching QuickBooks that states the action requires Administrator permissions usually followed by error code -12.
Clear QB Print Files- This will resolve issues with printing or opening PDFs and also with checks not displaying properly as though they are cutoff.
Clear QB Updates- This will remove all old QuickBooks Updates that are no longer needed so QuickBooks will startup faster.
Force Close Your QB- This will close QuickBooks if your own QuickBooks instance is frozen/locked up or is not closing normally. Any unsaved data will be lost!
Force Close All QBs- This will close all QuickBooks instances for all users on the server. This is primarily used when the admin needs to install an update or upgrade which requires there to be no active instances of QuickBooks. Any unsaved data will be lost!
