Web Connector gives you an easy way to set up and manage an app. You can see all your apps in one place. Connected apps will show all the apps you set up with QuickBooks.
Important: This process will require admin rights on the server it is being installed on.
Download QuickBooks Web Connector
To get started, download and install QuickBooks Web Connector. Here’s how:
- Download the installer.
- Right-click the installer download, then choose Extract All.
- In the extracted folder, right-click the .exe file, then choose Run as Administrator.
- Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
If the version above didn’t work, you can download a different version of QuickBooks Web Connector.

Note: This will install Windows components if necessary.
If you get an error while you install Web Connector
If you get an error while/after installing the web connector, you can uninstall and reinstall it.
- On your keyboard, press Windows+R.
- In the Run window, enter the "control panel" and select OK.
- Select Uninstall a program.
- Select Web Connector, then Uninstall. If you can't find QuickBooks Web Connector in the Control Panel, delete the QBWebconnector folder in these locations:
- C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Intuit\QuickBooks\ or,
- C:\Program Files\Common Files\Intuit\QuickBooks\

Add an app to Web Connector
Make sure you log in to QuickBooks as the admin and log in to your Intuit Account.
If you have your .qwc file from your third-party web app, you can connect it to QuickBooks.
- Select File, Update web service and then Manage Web Apps.
- Select Set up next to the app you want to set up. This will take you to the app’s website where you’ll log in.
- Select Connect to QuickBooks on the app website.
- Open QuickBooks Desktop and select Done on the Access Confirmation screen to complete your setup.
Manage an app
Make sure you log in to QuickBooks as the admin and log in to your Intuit Account.
- Select File, App Management and then Manage Web Apps.
- Select Connected apps to view your apps and make changes.
Delete an app
You can delete an app from Web Connector. Once you delete the app, the data exchange won't work with QuickBooks Desktop.
- Select Edit, Preference, and then Integrated Applications.
- Select Company preferences.
- Select the app you want to remove, select Remove, and then OK.

Transfer App to your device
You can transfer an app to another computer for the same company file. Once you transfer the app, the connection from your other machine is removed. Make sure you're on the newest release of QuickBooks Desktop.
- Select File, Update web service and then Manage Web Apps.
- Select Connected apps to view your apps and make changes.
- Select Transfer App to my device. The app connection will move to your new device. Make sure you continue the data transfer.
