If when you log into QuickBooks and try to use the Bank Feeds function you received the error message "Access to Path Denied", this article will bring you through what causes the error and how to resolve it.
Why this happens:
QuickBooks has designed the Bank Feeds to be used by one user at a time, so it locks the files located in "C:\ProgramData\Intuit\QuickBooks *year number*\Components\OLB\branding\filist" to the user who is using it. It does not release this lock automatically, so the user who is currently using Bank Feeds must go through these steps in order to release the function when they are done.
Solution:
1. If you are the user or know the user who was using bank feeds, ask them to click on Banking> Bank Feeds> Release Exclusive Use
2. Once this process has been completed by the user who was using Bank Feeds, other users will be able to access the function within QuickBooks without issue.
If you're not sure which user was accessing the Bank Feeds function, please submit a ticket with Summit via https://ticket.summithosting.com or update us via email in your current ticket so we can manually reset the Bank Feeds by clear hung sessions or rebooting the server to clear the lock file.
