"Error -6177, 0: QuickBooks is attempting to open this Company file"
This will also correct QuickBooks 6123, 6129 and 6177 errors:
1. Have all users close QuickBooks (use the Task Manager if possible)
2. Launch File Explorer (a folder) and make sure file exentions are visible by clicking on the View tab and checking the "File Name Extensions" box
3. Navigate to your company file. Default path is: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Intuit\QuickBooks\Company Files
4. Locate the files that have a .ND extension (stands for Network Data) and rename it to .ND.OLD
5. Launch QuickBooks and try to open the company file again. You may need to try to open it two or three times, as QuickBooks will need to build another .ND file.
6. Once you successfully open the company file you can delete the .OLD ND files.
If that doesn't work, create a temp folder, move the .qbw and .tlg files into that folder. Launch QuickBooks and open the company file. If it opens, click on File / Close Company. Move the .qbw and .tlg files back to their original location.
