FAQ/Guide:
How to Identify if a server is connected to a CPA Set up in Insynq (2.0) to determine if we run their updates without order form or charge.
- Look for the top level company name in RDCM and see if there are servers under that name (example used is Carbonaro CPA)
- If the server you are looking for isn’t listed in RDCM Log into the top level server and do the following
- On the top-level server look in the S drive for any shortcut to another server.
- The shortcuts can be in a few different locations on the S drive so either look at the root of S or look for a folder called _Clients_
- The shortcuts can be in a few different locations on the S drive so either look at the root of S or look for a folder called _Clients_
- The 3rd way to identify if they are attached to a CPA setup is to look in SSIT (if you have that access not all do)
- Access to SSIT is in SHUS via Chrome browser at https://ssit.insynq.com/provisioning/
- Then click Provisioning to the left and click Virtual Machines
- This will then open the "All Machines" tab where you can enter the name or the server you are trying to identify
- In this example you can see under the account tab Carbo is the account holder which means Top level and the Organization tab indicates that they are a client of Carbo (the 3 *** indicate terminated client)
- Now you can search the name of the company and see if they are attach

Assigning an Admin user in 2.0 for a client of CPA
- If you are looking to give Admin rights to a client under a CPA umbrella you need to get that authorized by the top-level CPA.
- The reason you need to get authorization is that in 2.0, there are a lot of CPAs that want to manage all client things, such as QB updates or similar, and don’t want them to have Admin rights.
- So you will need to find out a few things to make that happen
- Verify with CE who the top-level Admin is. Then, you can either CC them on the ticket (best option), or you can ask the client to reach out to the top-level admin to open a ticket requesting this change.
- Once we have that verified you will search AD for AdminSG.390XXXX and add the user's email under the member's tab
- Then you will need to do a sync in TG for the change to take
- Now you need to sign into the Admin TG portal and enable MFA for the user you added as an admin
Placing icons for users after installing apps
- After the application install such as Office (for example) you have to give the icons from this location, or the icons won’t work for them
- B:\Programs\~Icon Repository
- Then choose the folder that matches your install
- When placing the icons it depends on what OS the server is
- For a 2019 server the icons will be in the start menu, or you can also place the icons on the user’s desktop
- For 2016 or 2012 R2 servers you will need to navigate to the users All Applications folder at this location for the user D:\Shares\UsersStartMenu$\annessa_carbocpa.com\Start Menu\Programs\All Applications (check hidden items box in file explorer)
- If you try to access the user's All Applications folder through a different path, in most cases, you will get a denied message.
